You will study each of the subjects listed below. There is some opportunity for ‘options’ within Design Technology and Physical Education, but this does not form part of your ‘Options Process’. Click on the links on the left-hand side to find out more about each one.

Please note that if you are interested in studying BTEC First Certificate Sport, you will be able do this within your allocated PE lessons (2 per week). This course is equivalent to 2 GCSE’s Grades A* - C. You are able to increase this to BTEC First Diploma by taking it as an option. This is equivalent to 4 GCSE’s Grades A* - C. You should speak to your PE teacher about choosing this option, or refer to the information on the Learning Pathways website (address at bottom of page).
Choosing to take BTEC Sport does not affect any choices you make within this Options process. However, it does mean an additional course with coursework requirements. Please bear this in mind when making your other choices.
GCSE Design and Technology
You will be asked by your D&T teacher to indicate your preferred choice of D&T subject to study at GCSE level. As this is a compulsory subject, it does not affect any choices you make within the Options process.
