Your Choice
When you have gathered enough information from a variety of sources about which option subjects would be best for you, you will then need to indicate these on the ‘Learning Pathways - Key Stage 4’ Options form.
This will be issued at the parents Evening on Monday 30th March. Pupils who cannot be represented at this event will be given the Options form the following morning. This will need to be taken home and completed.
Completing The Options Form
Completing the form correctly is vital. Please follow the instructions on the Options form (and the guidelines given below) to ensure you do not make any mistakes.
Section 1
You will need to indicate which 3 subjects you would like to study by entering a number in the relevant box of the grey shaded column (entitled ‘First choice’). Please remember that number 1 represents the subject you would most like to study, then number 2, then number 3.
Section 2
Because it is not always possible to provide you with all of your preferred choices, you need to tell us which other 3 subjects you would be prepared to study if you have to by entering a number in the relevant box of the column entitled ‘Reserve choice’. Please remember again, that number 1 represents the subject you would most like to study, then number 2, then number 3.
This is something we do only as a last resort, but it is important that you have a chance to indicate which subjects you would prefer, rather than us picking one for you.
Each year, a number of pupils are allocated at least one of their reserve choices, so please choose these carefully!
Section 3
The final part in completing the form is to make sure that you and your parent/guardian has signed it before the form is returned to school.
You should also check you have completed your personal details at the top of the sheet.
Any errors in completing this form will lead to a delay in processing your options form. This could lead to you not being allocated your preferred choices.
This form should then be returned to your form tutor, by Tuesday 21st April at the latest.
(i.e. First day back after the 2 week Spring Holiday).
