Music (BTEC)
What Will I Study?

If you choose to study Music as an option, you will work towards the BTEC First Certificate, which is equivalent to 2 GCSE’s Grade A* - C. This course is credit based and each student must accumulate 30 credits. It covers a variety of aspects of the music industry. The mandatory units are “Working in the Music industry” and “Professional Development in the Music Industry”.
Other units (of which each candidate must complete 2) could include:

Solo musical performance

Exploring musical composition

The Musical World.

D.J. technology and performance.

Producing a musical recording.
How Will I Be Assessed?

Each unit will take 60 learning hours

Each unit will have a number of specific assignments

Each unit will have a practical outcome which will be assessed.

Theatre, television & film related jobs.
