GCSE Physical Education
What Will I Study?
During Key Stage 4 emphasis is placed on leadership, planning, performing and evaluating both yours and others performance. A variety of activities are studied in depth in blocks of eight weeks. The activities include football, netball, rugby, hockey, badminton, basketball, fitness, athletics, tennis plus many more. Outside agencies will be invited to teach on some of the courses where appropriate and applicable. If talented enough, pupils are recommended and encouraged to join local clubs and to compete in district and County trials.

How Will I Be Assessed?

GCSE PE is offered to all pupils and consists of one theory and one practical lesson. When assessing everyone’s performance GCSE PE assessment guidelines are followed.
What Can It Lead To?

Useful for careers in sports coaching, armed forces, leisure industry, sports development emergency services, teaching, professional sport and physiotherapy.
