GCSE MATHS
What Will I Study?
-
All pupils in years 9-11 study a Maths course which leads to GCSE entry at one of two different levels – Foundation or Higher. Each course contains content from the four different attainment targets - Applications, Number and Algebra, Shape and Space and Handling Data. At Foundation level content is included up to National Curriculum Level 7 and at Higher Level includes some extension material.

-
be able to draw and measure accurately
-
be able to learn methods for answering questions
-
be able to display proficiency in non-calculator skills
-
work logically, reading problems carefully and thinking what you will do
-
work neatly, showing clearly what you are trying to do and not just writing down answers (even if they are right!)
-
show a keen interest and involve yourself with classwork and homework
How Will I Be Assessed?
-
