Mission Statement
As a Science and Foundation College we will:
Raise the profile and importance of Science in Schools and in the Community
Continue to raise the standards of achievement in Science and Mathematics for pupils of all abilities, through excellent teaching and learning strategies, reinforcing and spreading good practice and innovation to raise standards across the whole school
Inspire pupils with enthusiasm for Science through an exciting and relevant curriculum
Extend the range of opportunities, including a broader range of courses and out of hours learning, to raise post-16 participation rates
Within a curriculum that is broad and flexible we will enable our pupils to develop, progress and meet their aspirations, empowering them to meet the demands of life in the twenty-first century
Develop thinking skills and intellectual curiosity, raising standards in all subjects
Set challenging targets and enrichment opportunities for gifted and talented pupils
Enhance the delivery of the National Curriculum through our pupils’ practical, scientific capability by engaging them in the world in which Science is applied to occupations, including health care, by making more effective links with the business and industrial communities
Work with Connexions and the Humber EBLO to develop awareness among pupils and teachers of career opportunities in scientific fields and the skills needed and valued by the scientific industry
Extend opportunities for work related learning and enterprise activities
Strive to develop and maintain strong links with local industry and business, involving them in the education of their workforce of the future
Extend our role as a Collaborative Partner, sharing good practice with other Schools and the Community.
