Pupils' eyes on the prize
STAR students at Healing School received dozens of awards for being "simply the best" at an annual ceremony.
The accolades – including GCSE certificates, subject prizes and handfuls of trophies – were presented to the school's former Year 11 students at Grimsby Town Hall.
As reported, 91 per cent of pupils at the specialist science and foundation college this year received five or more A* to C grades, and all achieved their personal targets. This was a 12 per cent increase on last year's pass rate and the best in the school's history.
Headteacher Ann Addison said: "The school was judged outstanding in every single category in June and the students have proven that with hard work, a positive attitude to community activities and the love and support of their families, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
"I'm absolutely delighted to see so many students and parents here tonight and they deserve this fantastic success."
The headteacher also paid tribute to 15-year-old Sam Broderick, who died in March of a rare condition.
