Prizegiving at Grimsby Town Hall
Academic success was the order of the day as Healing School held its annual awards ceremony.
It was held to mark the hard work and dedication of the school’s previous Year 11 pupils.
The former students were joined by guest speaker Tim Simmons, director and chief executive of the Ogden Trust, who described the school as “an outstanding college”.
In her speech to the pupils, Headteacher Ann Addison said: “Not only did you achieve your personal targets but, by achieving the highest results, 72% A*-C, including English and Maths and 77% overall, you became record breakers in the history of the school. This amazing feat proves that there is no substitute for hard work, the support of a loving family, the dedication of highly qualified teachers and the opportunities created within an outstanding school”.
Christina Hostad, recipient of two awards said: “In the end, it has really paid off and I’m really proud of myself”.
Two other big winners on the night were Rebecca Skelton and Louise Hitchman, who shared the Art prize.
