PRIZES FOR HARD WORK
Young people from North East Lincolnshire were rewarded for helping to improve their communities at a glitzy ceremony last night.
School children who dedicated their time to charity as part of the 20th annual Lifestyle project were presented with once-in-a-lifetime prizes at Hull City Hall.
Almost 5,000 young people from the Humber area took part in this summer’s event, working an incredible 97,565 hours and raising £97,068 for charities.
Five teams of young people won top prizes in the Humberside Police’s Lifestyle awards 2008. The groups of school children all won adventure holidays in Wales.
The Awesome Foursome – Katie Barker, Charlotte Bray, Rhianna Clare and Ellie Deighton of Healing School tidied up Fords Avenue Park, revamped their local Duke of Edinburgh site, set up a church summer club and held a fun day.
