Grimsby Town U14s
The Mariners Under-14s were a little slow out of the blocks in their derby clash. Lincoln should have scored in just the first minute and on a narrow pitch, Town found it tough to get their passing game going. The Imps played more direct football and the Town defence were put under immense pressure. Finally, Lincoln scored after a goalmouth scramble, when their forward poked the ball home.
The second period saw Town play much better with Andy Ross making a couple of good runs. Will Peers fired a shot in which Robbie Bryant almost got a touch on, then Ross fired wide. But it wasn’t to be Town’s day. A draw may have been a fairer result and Town must learn to start games much brighter.
Special mention goes to trialists Aaron McArthy and Jack Barker, who both did well on the day.
